About

So who is Ryan Corrigan and why should you choose to view his pictures?

Ryan Corrigan is an award winning photographer…… blah bablah..bablah.

Nope. I have won some awards, but nothing to be proud about and I am not going to subject you to some poetic, third-person, illusion of a perfect being biography like some of the other guys out there.

I am a gangly, six-foot three recent college graduate who loves telling stories through photography and being a dork in front of a lot of people. I relentlessly (sometimes delusionally) pursue the belief that by bringing people together and sharing our common values and knowledge, we can make the world a better place.

The problems that humanity faces are extreme, perhaps more now than ever before. Terrorism, pollution, overpopulation, nuclear war, to name a few. It is easy to get bogged down by these, to lose hope. Allow me to share with you one of my favorite quotes from President John F. Kennedy.

“The conquest of poverty is as difficult if not more difficult than the conquest of outer space. And we can expect moments of frustration and disappointment in the months and years to come. But we have no doubt about the outcome. For all history shows that the effort to win progress within freedom represents the most determined and steadfast aspiration of man. For in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s futures. And we are all mortal.”

I am currently living in Kolkata, India teaching English and community engagement to 6th and 7th graders at A.K. Ghosh Memorial School.

I believe one person can change the world, but it would be a lot easier if everyone came together.

I hope you enjoy the site!
